Welcome to SIGMA, Jay Ray, Territory Sales Manager

With this strategic hire, SIGMA is reaffirming our commitment to our customers in this territory with a dedicated professional who will focus on the enclosure sector. Jay comes to us with significant experience in sales management, having previously served as a territory sales manager for John Bouchard and Sons and Advanced Drainage Systems (ADS).

Southeast Regional Branch Manager Jeff Fox comments, “With automated meter reading becoming the norm, the demand for quality polymer enclosures is growing exponentially. Bringing Jay on board as TSM for enclosures in the southeast was critical to serving the customers in these expanding markets. His background in waterworks sales and his affability make him a great fit, and I know he will serve our customers well.”

No stranger to success, in his former positions, Jay was named Territory Manager of the month 20 times, grew his territory by double-digit percentages year-over-year, and produced the highest dollar increase in new business by $500,000.

His approach is simple:  “Be authentic to the customer. Take the time to build trust, and demonstrate that customers can count on you. When we become a valuable part of their organization while representing ours, we form a partnership and that is the basis of a successful sales relationship. We deliver on our promises, and we always tell the truth. If I can’t do something, I’m alerting the customer right away and I’m offering the best-case scenario of what I can deliver.  I’m motivated to go out every day and make a difference.”

When he’s not serving SIGMA’s enclosure customers, Jay, a former professional baseball pitcher who played in the LA Dodgers organization, can be found playing golf or working to improve his impressive 4.2 handicap. He is also an avid runner and enjoys traveling with his wife.

We welcome Jay to the SIGMA family and wish him much success.

Jay can be reached at jray@sigmaco.com or 615-476-0694
