The SIGMA Team that Hikes Together…

“I take a backpacking trip to Yosemite every year,” says Pacific Northwest Area Sales Manager Chris Staudy. This fall, he recruited fellow SIGMA Territory Salesmen Kane Connor and Danny Flannery to join him, and the trio had quite an adventure.

Over a three-day trip, the group hiked about 25 miles deep into the heart of Yosemite. They all carried their own equipment—tents, sleeping bags, clothing, bear canisters to contain food and other scented items that could attract unwanted attention from the local wildlife, cooking stove, water purifier…

On Day One they trekked a full 12 miles and set up camp near the Tuolumne River. As it happened, the trip coincided with a “super moon”, so the night sky was just spectacular. The three spent the following day hiking to various waterfalls in the area, enjoying the beautiful scenery, and according to Staudy, “laughing non-stop.” They spent most of the trip at an elevation of 8500 feet, so the hiking was strenuous, but all three plan to make this an annual tradition, each hosting the group at a site in their region. Staudy continues, “There is a lot of value in trips like this as a team-building exercise, and we are all grateful that in addition to being coworkers we have become good friends.” Next year, Kane Connor is on deck to plan a trip in his home turf of Arizona.

Happy Trails, Gentlemen!
